From 2019-2020, I dabbled in the creation of wooden baby toys with a project I called RestoredLux. In 2021, I “accidentally” and legally started company that led me into the manufacturing world of children’s products. And so, Minimalist Minis™ was born. What began as a personal project quickly evolved into writing and publishing two delightful children’s books. This unexpected venture combined my creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, giving life to stories that inspire young minds.
My first children’s board book, I Am, focuses on teaching kids the power of positive self-talk—because everyone can use a little self-encouragement. Printed on 100% recycled paper with soy ink, it’s as eco-friendly as it is meaningful. The story features a little boy (who looks like my son Jacob) and a Weimaraner (just like my dog Jason). When I was invited to a book signing at Barnes & Noble®, the book was a huge hit, charming everyone with its heartfelt message and adorable illustrations produced by a Ukranian artist.
Inspired by the fun and rewarding journey of self-publishing, my creativity led to the birth of my second book, Poopoolin. This funny story stars the same Weimaraner, Jason, from my first book, who has a quirky passion that no one seems to understand. By the end of the tale, the book highlights a heartwarming message: the importance of supporting those you love, even when their dreams seem a little out there.
After receiving two Indie Publishing awards, I added another simple children’s product to the mix: the only white splash pad on the market to go with every theme party. It was twice the thickness of all others on the market, making it versatile and safe enough for pups to use! In the midst of it all, I worked on a patent-pending tray project as well as white Mini & Me pool floats.
It’s no secret that I have a unique ability to spot opportunities everywhere I look. I thrive on creating versatile products that simplify life, all while keeping the process enjoyable and engaging. Whether through my entrepreneurial ventures or creative projects, I bring a blend of practicality, fun, and relatability to everything I do.
When my toy steering wheel project, the Weeli®, took off, I became completely focused on bringing it to life. As a result, Minimalist Minis was shut down to give my full attention to the Weeli®. This shift allowed me to channel all my energy into this new venture. But I hope to return to writing more children’s stories someday!
